Real Youth Church has been running for a little over 2 years now. We have seen and been a part of some really exciting things. REALs' mission statement is "REAL is about seeing a generation of young people sold out for God". This statement is very straight forward and captures my heart for REAL and the heart of the young people who come to REAL.

At the start I had quite a clear vision of what REAL would look like, a very fast paced magazine show version of church, like church for an MTV generation. But thankfully God had different ideas and made it very clear what he desired REAL to look like. Every REAL has 3 key components Worship, Word, and Response. Its that simple: REAL gives young people a place to worship, a place to here the word, and vehicle to respond to God.

REAL is about making disciples, who reach out. This highlighted in our summer outreach programme REAL Week. This is where a group of teenagers come stay in the local churches in Greenisland and serve that community in a practical manner, doing kids clubs, sports outreach, practical service like cleaning the train station and tidying gardens. Every night of REAL Week we have youth church, which is a great time to come together share stories of what God did that day. REAL Week is always an intense experience.

This year we have seen the start of weekly Cell groups through REAL these groups are going through an exciting Pilot programme called the 360 adventure. This is just another aspect to how REAL has developed over the past 2 and a bit years.

Please feel free to come and be a part of REAL it happens the first Friday night of every month and starts at 8pm in Greenisland Baptist.
